Not too long along I had posted FINDING WAYS TO LIVE AND TRAVEL CHEAP – THE CAMPER VAN CONVERSION, and I mentioned the mantra – “Spend Less to Do More!”.
I want to expand and elaborate on that mantra because I’m hoping it will make you think, adjust, or reinforce your mindset, while applying it to your daily life.
In the previous Camper Van Conversion post, I mentioned:
“…“Experiences over Possessions…” “…Wants vs. Needs”… “Spend Less to Do More!”…”
All three mantras coexist with each other, but its the 3rd one that sums it up nicely, “Spend Less to Do More!”
I try and apply it to my daily life, but here’s how it applied to the Camper Van Conversion and traveling. While researching Camper Van Conversions through Websites, Blogs, Social Media, YouTube, Pinterest and other avenues, I discovered so many beautifully planned & built conversions … “Oooh shiny!”…
I found that many Van’ers had something in common. It was spending a lot of money on their conversions just to make it look good. They had these great looking vehicles with beautiful craftsmanship, but not enough gas money to actually get out and do adventures. Why? Because they fell into the trap of “Oh look, shiny!”…in other words, “Want’s vs. Needs”. They “wanted” their vehicle a certain way without realizing their true “needs”. Had they slowed down and worked out what they really needed, they could have been on the road sooner, doing and seeing more for longer with the money they would have saved… “Experiences over Possessions”.
With my camper van conversion, I could have done so much more with it, but I explain how I saved money with a few tips and by applying the above mantras in order to complete a cheap comfortable conversion in order to save money for more adventures.
I hope this helps and inspires you to apply these mantras to you life.
Spend Less to Do More – Happy Adventuring!
Through my own actions I hope to inspire & encourage others to get out, explore and discover the beauty that is all around.
