Writing on Stone Provincial Park – Alberta

Writing on Stone Provincial Park is located approx. 1 hour 22 minutes south east of Lethbridge AB.

Among the hoodoos are the petroglyphs that depicts a great battle. Since the drawings show guns and horses, we know that this battle would have to have taken place after 1730 because those items were introduced into the area until around that time frame.

Although there are theories of when and which battle it refers to, it seems to have taken place in the late 1800’s, as one of the most decisive Aamsskaapipikani victories.

The trails are easy to follow and will take you back in time to a world of history and mystery.

p.s. As you wander through the trail, beware of your stepping and hand placement….. Rattlesnakes are in the area.

Waking up – surrounded by Nature

Waking up – surrounded by Nature

Waking up to the birds chirping in the background and the sun slowly coming over the tree tops, this was a beautiful morning to open the van’s sliding door. One can’t help but take in the fresh air while being surround by all this greenery.

Welcome to Rosewell Creek Provincial Park!
